Procedure for claiming Travel Expenses

Ever travel for work? Claim expenses for that? Here is what you must do in the UN, to get your money back. The general idea is to make the process so difficult that you would be much happier just spending out of your pocket.

1. Fill in a travel authorization, to be signed by the unit head and the UNDP resident representative (RR).
2. Write a memo to the RR, sent ‘through’ (i.e. signed by) the unit head.
3. Travel
4. If you bought your own ticket, get a claim form from finance (but they don’t have any so go to the Intranet site and search for it). Fill the form.
5. Include a copy of the travel authorization, the ticket stub, and receipt for travel and submit to Registry (not finance).
6. Pray for your money
